Oldies but Goodies!

In an attempt to supply something different, I pulled out my old photo albums, full of 4 by 6 glossy's. Most of these I took with an old Kodak "point & shoot" film camera, then ran to Walgreens and anxiously waited an hour to have them processed. Do you remember doing that? I've got hundreds of these old shots, here are just a few.
This is a shot of a DAL DC-9 and a Provincetown-Boston Airlines Lockheed 10-A (Electra) taken in Boston, probably in the late 60's. I researched this shot several years ago and learned that the Electra had formerly flown at either NWA or Wisconsin Central, but I can't remember. Formed in 1949 by John Van Arsdale, aka "Old Man Van," PBA had a fascinating history before being taken over by Maine based Bar Harbor Airlines and folded into Continental Express.
I was a DC-9 captain when I took this shot taxiing out in St. Louis. TWA and McDonnell Douglas are both history now, TWA taken over by American Airlines and MD by Boeing Aircraft.
This is a USAir Fokker 100. I think it's MSP.
The first of the new era low cost carriers that was going to put us out of business. ProAir was based at Detroit Downtown Airport, had secured contracts with General Motors and Chrysler and was going to run NWA out of DTW with its three B-737's. This shot was taken at Newark.
An American Airlines DC-10 at Chicago O'Hare in front of the new tower. Congressional Medal of Honor winner Lt. Commander Butch O'Hare, based on the USS Lexington during WWII was killed by friendly fire in November 1943 during "The Great Mariannas Turkey Shoot."
I think that this was the original AirTran paint scheme, well before they acquired Value Jet. I don't know where I took this, so if anyone recognizes the airfield, let me know.
Eastwind, they weren't around very long so I have no information about them, other than I took this picture taxiing out at Bradley Field in Hartford, CT. Trivia: If you're cleared for an approach to Bradley in Hartford, where would you go to find the approach plate? Give up? Windsor Locks!!
This shot of a PBA Martin 404, was given to me by either Tony or John Vivenetto who flew at PBA. They're twin brothers who are Airbus captains at NWA now.
This shot of TWA 707 was given to me by my father in law who'd just returned from a business trip in Japan. By the appearance of the support vehicles and the lack of a jetway, I'm guessing that this was taken in Japan. When I've flown the 757 to Narita, I've spent a lot of time at remote hardstands boarding/deboarding passengers.
My Dad took this shot of a Hawaiian Convair 340 in 1959 during a family vacation. I was 10 and Hawaii had just become a state. Very recently, I rode jumpseat on a Hawaiian B-717 from HNL to Hilo and back. I had a great time and met some wonderful people. The story will be appearing in AIRWAYS MAGAZINE shortly and then I'll post additional pictures here as well. Let me know if you like this "Oldies but Goodies" idea. If so, I'll publish them from time to time.
